Understand Your Medical Plan Options

Health Savings Plans (HSP) Hybrid Plans

Important Features Common to HSP, and Hybrid Options

Preventive care services include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine Immunizations

  • Routine Physicals

  • Annual Well-Women Exam

  • Routine OB/GYN Visit

  • Routine Mammograms

  • Well-Child Care

Visit your health plan’s website to see a list of the preventive care services that your medical plan option will cover at 100% in-network, or call your health plan for information.

  • If You Are Covering Dependents
    • Be sure to consider other coverage options for your dependents, like those offered through a spouse's/partner's employer.

    • If you plan to cover dependents who live out of area (e.g., at college or in a different state) and enroll in:

      • HSP 1 with the APCN Plus network, your out-of-area depends will receive care through the broad nation Aetna choice POS II network at in-network coverage levels.

      • Hybrid Plans, your out-of-area depends must use providers in the Open Access Aetna Select network in order for the plan to cover and help pay for their care. (Out-of-network emergency care is covered the same as if it were in-network.)

      • HSP 1 through Kaiser Permanente, only in-network care will be covered, so you may want to consider enrolling in HSP 2 or HSP 3 through the broad national Aetna Choice POS II network instead.

  • Member ID Cards

If you enroll for CVS Health coverage, you may or may not receive a new member ID card from your health plan in the mail.

    • If you newly enroll in Aetna medical coverage, or if you re-enroll in Aetna medical coverage and have not granted permission on aetna.com to receive communications electronically, you'll receive a new member ID card from Aetna in the mail.

    • If you re-enroll in Aetna medical coverage and have granted permission on aetna.com to receive communications electronically, you'll only receive a new member ID card in the mail if you move in or out of an APCN Plus network.

    • You can download a new member ID card from aetna.com anytime. You can also ask to have a member ID card mailed to you by contacting Aetna One® Advocate (A1A) (see below) or visiting aetna.com.

    • If you enroll in Kaiser Permanente medical coverage, you'll receive a new member ID card in the mail.

  • Engaging with Your Health Plan

  • Select a Primary Care Physician (PCP)

Consider Selecting a Primary Care Physician (PCP) for Yourself and Any Covered Family Members

While not required, primary care providers (PCPs) manage your day-to-day health needs. A long-term relationship with a PCP keeps you healthier and lowers medical costs. A PCP can teach you ways to stay healthy, treat you when you're sick and help you get more advanced care when you need it.

    • Aetna members: Call Aetna One Advocate 1-800-558-0860 and provide your PCP selection or visit aetna.com and make your selection online.

    • Kaiser Permanente members: Call Kaiser Permanente and provide your PCP selection or visit my.kp.org/cvs and make your selection online.
