Becoming a new Mountaineer

Becoming a new Mountaineer

Welcome to the Iron Mountain benefits program!

As a new Mountaineer (or if you are newly eligible for Iron Mountain benefits), you have important decisions to make for you and your family. We provide lots of resources and tools you can use to learn about and choose your benefits that will help you and your loved ones thrive.

  • The basics

If you want Iron Mountain benefits, you must make your choices within 30 days of the date you were hired (or the date you became newly eligible for Iron Mountain benefits). If you make your choices within those 30 days, your coverage begins retroactively on your new hire date (or the date you became newly eligible for Iron Mountain benefits). Your benefit payments for coverage, which are deducted from your paycheck, also begin retroactively to that same date.

Click and explore the information below to learn how our model and resources are designed to support you with the following:

    • Understanding and choosing the right medical plan

    • Managing benefits when you have a chronic condition or planned surgery or birth of a child

    • Dealing with the disruption of provider relationships or prescription drugs

    • Choosing your benefits when you have limited access to a computer

    • Understanding differences in costs and coverage

    • Getting support in different languages

  • What to do

    Gather dependent verification documents

To include dependents in your coverage, you must provide documentation to confirm their eligibility within 30 days of your date of hire (or the date you become newly eligible for benefits). Click below for the types of documentation needed and to learn more about who’s eligible.
