LifeTime Benefit Term (LBT) Insurance

LBT insurance is offered through Chubb Workplace Benefits and is a traditional term life insurance policy that includes features that allow you to tap into the benefit for certain long-term care costs, which include home health care, long term care facility and assisted living expenses associated with illness, aging or an accident.

You can elect up to $150,000 of coverage and can choose additional coverage for eligible dependents, which includes up to $75,000 for your spouse/partner and up to $25,000 for dependent children up to age 25.  

You can decide how to use the benefit and there are several ways:

As life insurance:

• Death benefit guaranteed for longer of 25 years or age 70

• After age 70, guaranteed to be no less than 50% of the original amount

• Accrue a guaranteed, reduced death benefits after 10 years of premium payment even if you stop paying premiums

As life insurance:

• 4% of death benefit per month, up to 25 months for LTC costs

• Death benefit will reduce proportionately while receiving payments

• LBT insurance premiums are waived during this time
